Of the people who work in the City of Washington, 63% also live in the city. Representatives from Iowa Workforce Development presented their findings from a recent laborshed analysis Wednesday morning to representatives from area agencies, including local schools and employers.

Ryan Murphy, Bureau Chief with the regional research and analysis bureau, shared they surveyed a range of people and asked a variety of questions. The average age of people employed was 50. They also combined the local laborshed information with surrounding counties and looked at the whole region. Regarding wages Murphy said the median hourly rate is $15.10 and the median salary is $60,000.
