For $95,000 Washington County has sold a piece of land. At this week’s Washington County Board of Supervisors meeting the board unanimously approved selling the land back to the Holy Trinity Catholic Church of Richmond, as it had been condemned to be used for a lagoon sewer system.

Supervisor Jack Seward called it the end of dealings with RUSS, as the system was going to be installed by Regional Utility Service Systems. The approval this week was the final technical step in the sale of the land back to the church. The parcel was originally $95,000 but due to legal fees and the condemnation process, Washington County will receive approximately $82,000.
