The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys basketball team hits the road tonight to kickoff the new year, traveling to battle the North Cedar Knights.

The Golden Hawks enter tonight following an extended holiday layoff with a bye last Tuesday night. Mid-Prairie is 0-7 on the year overall and in conference play. In their last game Mid-Prairie was beaten at West Branch on December 22nd, 73-44. Nolan Faselt leads the way individually for Mid-Prairie averaging 10 points per game, Faselt is also the team leader with 22 assists on the season. Noah Altenhofen leads the Golden Hawks on the boards with 37 rebounds.

North Cedar comes into tonight’s action with a 2-8 overall record, the Knights are 1-6 in conference play. In their last game, North Cedar lost to Camanche 64-53 on Tuesday night. Aaron Woodward led the way for the Knights with 22 points. Woodward is the team leader on the season for the Knights at eight points per game, Woodward also owns a team best mark with 34 rebounds. Cory Fields is best on the Knights with 16 assists. These two teams met once last year with North Cedar taking a 45-28 win in Wellman.
