The Mid-Prairie boys and girls basketball teams hosted Iowa City Regina in Wellman Tuesday night for a River Valley Conference doubleheader.

In the girls game the No. 2 Regals topped the No. 13 Golden Hawks 56-50. Mid-Prairie led 13-11 after the first quarter and held a 25-23 lead at the halftime break. In the third quarter the Golden Hawks extended that lead, outscoring the Regals 16-12 in the frame to take a 39-34 lead into the fourth. Regina turned it on in the last period, going on a 21-9 run that lasted the entire frame to score the come from behind win. Mid-Prairie was led on the night by Ali Butters and her 15 points, Alex Rath had 11 points and Addison Rath 10. With the loss the Mid-Prairie girls are now 8-5 overall, 8-4 in the River Valley Conference.

In the boys contest Iowa City Regina scored the road win 72-36. The Regals jumped on the Golden Hawks early, leading 23-10 after the first quarter and 51-18 at the halftime break. Nathan Stenger led the charge for the Regals with 18 points. With the loss the Mid-Prairie boys fall to 0-13 on the year.
