The longtime coach of the Washington Demon softball team has decided it’s time to step down. At Wednesday’s Washington Community School Board of Education meeting, the resignation of Angie Shrader as the district’s head varsity softball coach was accepted.

Shrader started her coaching career in Washington in 2000. She helped lead the Demons’ softball team to back-to-back state tournament appearances in 2012 and 2013, winning 30 or more games in each season. The Demon softball team has won 21 games total since their last state tournament birth, including a 7-27 campaign last season.

This is a developing story and KCII Sports will provide additional information as it becomes available.
