An additional $6,300 has been set aside in the budget for more rent payments by Washington County Public Health. Administrator Danielle Pettit-Majewski explained at Thursday’s Board of Health meeting, the current space is not working and they’re working to make the best of it. Additional space is needed and the department is looking to rent that in the Federation Bank building, where they are currently located. The Board of Health is also proposing setting aside further funds to put into the new building fund.

Speaking of the future of department, Pettit-Majewski said, the building and finance committee will need to get together soon to discuss moving forward. The bond measure is likely to be on the ballot during November’s general election. A bond measure was on the ballot this past November and failed with 45.3% of those voting in favor of the bond for the new public health building.
