It’s been one week since the Washington Demon girls’ basketball team competed. The seven-day absence from regular season basketball ends this afternoon as the Oskaloosa Indians (1-8 overall) travel to Washington for a non-conference game.

Washington’s latest competition on the hardwood came last weekend, resulting in a 29-point road loss to the No. 3 Center Point-Urbana Stormin Pointers (13-0 overall). Senior Morgan Kimball dropped in a team-best 13 points in the setback. The Demons have won their previous three home contests by an average of 14.3 points.

The Indians’ only win on the court this season came last week, a 61-39 triumph over the North Mahaska Warhawks. Junior Alexis Westercamp is Oskaloosa’s leading scorer and rebounder, averaging 16.4 points and 10.6 rebounds a game.

The varsity game is scheduled to tip off at 4:30 p.m. today at Washington High School.
