Road games have been a rarity this season for the Washington Demon girls’ basketball team (6-6 overall). Tonight marks just the fourth game played away from Washington High School for the Demons, who travel to Muscatine for a non-conference battle against the Muskies (3-10 overall).

The previous three road games resulted in losses for Washington, dropping two of the three battles by 21 or more points. The Demons improved their home record to 6-3 Saturday with a 53-50 triumph over the Oskaloosa Indians (1-9 overall). Sophomore Sarah Nacos poured in a team-best 19 points.

The Muskies played a more balanced schedule this season, playing seven of their 13 games away from Muscatine. Junior Erin Oppel leads the Muskies’ offensive attack, averaging 12.5 points per game. She also has grabbed down a team-best 70 rebounds, and her 23 blocks are tops on the team.

The varsity game is scheduled to tip off at 7:45 p.m. tonight. Live play-by-play coverage at Muscatine High School begins with the Washington Hy-Vee Pregame Show at 7:10 p.m. on FM 106.1 and KCIIRadio.com.
