Citizens of Ainsworth will go to the polls for a special election March 1st. Following the resignation of Mayor Teresa Hazelett in January and the appointment of Councilman Troy McCarthy as mayor there is an open seat on the city council. Three Ainsworth residents have filed papers to run in the election Douglas D. Donald, Dawn H. Stewart and Michael Eugene Sypherd, Sr.

Early in person voting has commenced at the Washington County Auditor’s office. Another option is to have an absentee ballot sent to your home which must be mailed to the auditor’s office by February 29th. On election day polls will be open from noon to 8 p.m. at the Ainsworth Fire Station.
