After months of practice the large group speech season will come to an end Saturday. Students from Washington, Mid-Prairie, and Keota High Schools will travel to the Large Group All-State Speech Festival at Iowa State University in Ames. Washington High School’s Musical Theatre group also earned a non-performing nomination for their performance of “Finding Neverland”. The students include Logan Hanson, Cale Rausch, Lena Adams, Libby Schnicker and Gracie Cleverly. From Mid-Prairie High School the One Act Play “Selfie” with Aleigha Gugel, Abby Pickard, Ciana Carr, Taylor Hillbrand, Rhett Leonard, Josh Fox, Isaiah Sents, Sawyer Black, Isaac Yoder and Lillian Radeboldt-Hopper earned a All-State non-performing nomination.

Keota High School had two groups earn All-State awards. The ensemble acting group of Bianca Cardona and Gracie McHugh earned a non-performing All-State nomination. The readers theatre group earned an All-State nomination and have been tapped to perform at the festival. The group includes Zach Mousel, Tyler Verstraete, Paden Uphold, Isaiah Hahn and Nate Sieren.
