The Johnson County Crisis Center is looking for volunteers to man phone lines as well as stock shelves at the local food bank. The center serves many local communities including Hills and Lone Tree. Jay Capron the Communications Coordinator for the Crisis Center says, training for these important volunteers can range from 60 hours for Crisis Intervention Volunteers, to just a few hours for those who would like to help with the food bank. The goals of the center include preventing suicides, keeping food on the tables for the less fortunate and providing emergency financial support to avoid eviction or loss of utilities.
