Four Mid-Prairie wrestlers will be participating in Saturday’s class 2A district wrestling meet at Clear Creek Amana High School in Tiffin.

Representing Mid-Prairie at 113lbs is Duncan McCain. McCain qualified for the meet as a sectional runner-up last week at Mediapolis. McCain suffered his first loss of the season in the championship match, falling to fellow unbeaten Josh Keller of Columbus by a 9-5 score. This week McCain enters action as the two seed with a 38-1 overall record. McCain will face 36-6 Caleb Fuessley of Center Point-Urbana. McCain and Fuessley have met once this season, with McCain winning by fall. On the other side of the bracket are 37-0 Josh Keller of Columbus and 32-13 Carter Weeks of Vinton-Shellsburg.

At 170lbs, Cameron Tolander of Mid-Prairie will be at the district meet. Tolander advanced through sectionals as a runner-up falling to Tucker Morrison of Columbus by a 4-1 decision. This week Tolander is the two seed in his bracket with a 30-5 overall record. He will face 42-7 Will Reiter of Union LaPorte City in the first round. On the other side of the bracket are 42-1 Tucker Morrison of Columbus and 29-19 Sam Maresh of Benton Community.

At 195lbs, Visouth Peterschmidt of Mid-Prairie will be at the district meet. Peterschmidt advanced through sectionals as a runner-up, falling to Ethan Timmerman of Mediapolis on criteria after remaining tied with Timmerman through ultimate tiebreaking overtime. This week Peterschmidt is the two seed in his bracket with a 35-3 overall record. He will face former Mid-Prairie teammate Miguel Sanchez of Williamsburg in the first round, Sanchez has a 34-4 overall record. On the other side of the bracket are Blade Durbala of Benton Community at 27-10 and Ethan Timmerman of Mediapolis at 35-2.

At 220lbs, Levi Duwa of Mid-Prairie will be at the district meet. Duwa advanced as a sectional champion last week at Mediapolis, pinning Kyle Giese of Columbus and beating Gage Jarrett of West Burlington, Notre Dame 6-1 to claim the title. Duwa is the top seed in his bracket, he will face Logan Knutson of Williamsburg in the first round, who enters the day with a 32-16 overall record. On the other side of the bracket are 37-3 Gage Jarrett of West Burlington, Notre Dame and 33-6 Jacob Reid of Benton Community.

Action begins today at noon at Clear Creek Amana High School in Tiffin.
