The No. 14 in class 3A Mid-Prairie girls basketball team opens regional play Saturday night when they host the Albia Lady Dees at Tim Grady Gymnasium in Wellman.

Mid-Prairie enters the game with a 13-8 overall record, winners of four straight. The Golden Hawks finished fourth in the River Valley Conference South division with an 11-7 mark in league play. In their last action Mid-Prairie routed county rival Washington on the road 52-30. The Hawks were led in the game by Alex Rath with 22 points, Addison Rath added 10. On the season the Golden Hawks are led by Ali Butters at 12 points per game, seventh best in the River Valley Conference. Addison Rath leads the Hawks with 108 rebounds and Alex Rath holds the team lead with 53 assists, ninth in the RVC.

Albia enters play tonight with an overall record of 9-11. The Lady Dees were 5-7 in the South Central Conference, good for third place. In their last game Albia edged Centerville on Thursday 50-46. Hannah Isley led the way with 23 points, Rylie Rohrer added 11 points. On the season Isley leads the Lady Dees at 17 points per game, second best in the SCC. Rohrer holds the team lead with 49 assists, seventh best in conference and Jade Van Polen is Albia’s leading rebounder with 120 on the season.
