The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk wrestling team traveled to Durant on Saturday for the River Valley Conference meet.

Mid-Prairie finished in fifth place out of the 13 teams competing with their score of 103.5 points. West Liberty won the team conference title with their score of 232 points. The Golden Hawks had three individual champions on the day. Duncan McCain took home the championship at 113lbs, improving his overall record to 38-0. McCain pinned his way to the title, knocking off Cory Anderson of Wilton in the championship match, putting him on his back in 2:51. Cameron Tolander was a River Valley Conference Champion for Mid-Prairie at 170lbs. Tolander also pinned his way to the title, taking out Jakob Barten of West Liberty by fall in 3:17 to win the championship. Levi Duwa brought home the conference championship for Mid-Prairie at 220lbs. Duwa pinned his way through to the championship match before beating Drew Finnegan in a hard fought 3-1 match to claim the title.

Other top finishers for Mid-Prairie included Miles Burrows in sixth at 126lbs and Jason Tew fifth at 182lbs. The Mid-Prairie wrestling team will next be in action Saturday at the sectional meet at Mediapolis High School.
