The Mid-Prairie boys and girls basketball teams are back on the floor at Tim Grady Gymnasium Friday night for the final time when they host Cascade in a River Valley Conference doubleheader.

The Mid-Prairie girls enter tonight’s action with a 10-8 overall record. On Tuesday, Mid-Prairie pounded West Liberty 58-33. Addison Rath led the way with 13 points. On the season the Hawks are led by Ali Butters at 13 points per game, sixth best in the River Valley, Alex Rath holds the team lead with 46 assists and Addison Rath leads the Golden Hawks with 90 rebounds on the year.

Cascade comes into tonight’s game 11-7 overall. The Cougars were winners on Friday, knocking off West Liberty 70-47. Cascade was led by Ann Ryan with 16 points. On the season Abbie Ruggeberg leads the way at eight points per game and holds the team lead with 103 boards. Lynsey Dolphin is the Cougar’s leader in assists with 60, fourth best in the River Valley North.

These two teams met a year ago with the Cougars taking a 46-37 win. The girls teams tip-off tonight at six in Wellman.

On the boys side Mid-Prairie comes into tonight at 1-17 on the year. The Golden Hawks dropped a wild 55-52 decision in double overtime at home on Tuesday to West Liberty. Mid-Prairie was led in the game by Ryan Cortum and Nathan Reed each had 12 points. On the year Mid-Prairie is led by Nolan Faselt and Caleb Statler at 10 points each per contest. Faselt holds the team lead with 50 assists. Statler paces Mid-Prairie on the glass with 87 boards on the year.

Cascade comes into tonight’s contest with an overall mark of 15-1 on the season. The Cougars are rated fourth in class 2A in the latest Associated Press Iowa High School Boys Basketball poll. In their last game Cascade handled West Liberty 75-38, Devin Green led the way with 22 points and 12 rebounds. On the year Green leads the Cougars and the River Valley North, averaging 20 points per game, Green is also the Cougars leading rebounder and tops in the RVC with 140 for the season. Trace Hoffman leads Cascade with 68 assists third best in the River Valley.
