Every month the Washington HACAP housing program host a life skills class to promote healthy life styles. The meetings also serve as a social occasion for residents. This month the class focused on eating healthy on a budget. Residents throughout the community met, shared recipes and had a pot luck. The Washington County Extension Office provided the space and also shared tips about healthy eating on a budget. Tips included knowing and sticking to your budget and to make sure to plan meals out ahead of time to avoid wasted time and food.

The next meeting will cover topics of mental health and the issues associated with it. The meeting on mental health will take place on February 24th at the HACAP Orchard Hill Complex, Building One in Washington.
