The Mid-Prairie girls basketball team scored a rivalry win at Washington Middle School Tuesday night, knocking off the Washington Demons 52-30.

In a game heard on AM and FM KCII, Mid-Prairie erased an early two point deficit with a 19-2 run that spanned large portions of the first and second quarter to build a 27-15 lead going into the halftime break. In the second half the Golden Hawks would stretch that advantage to as much as 15 points. Washington made a push early in the quarter to cut things to single digits but the Golden Hawks answered with six straight points to take control of the game back and finish the win.

On the night the Golden Hawks were led by Alex Rath and her game high 22 points. Addison Rath added 10 for Mid-Prairie. The Demons were led by Brynna DeLong and her 10 points. With the win Mid-Prairie improves to 13-8, with the loss Washington falls to 9-10 on the year.
