The first of several planned meetings to discuss the ongoing budget issues at the Highland School District will take place on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the high school gym. The school is dealing with a $230,000 short-fall this year due to declining enrollment. Highland Superintendent Chris Armstrong tells KCII News, he hopes the community can help the district find $500,000 in budget savings and the school board will have difficult decisions to make in March. Those who attend will see a presentation from Margart Buckton from Iowa School Finance Information Services.
