The City of Kalona will hold open house sessions to answer questions from citizens about the proposed new community center. The city hopes to build support for a $3.9 million bond vote coming on March 1st for the project. City Administrator Ryan Schlabaugh says, these meetings will be a great opportunity for the community to come out and see what they hope to build. Plans include include a full size basketball court, a walking and running track and several rooms for community events. For the bond to pass, 60% of voters must say yes on the ballot. The meetings will take place on today and also February 27th from 9 a.m. to noon at the community center.
