The City of Kalona will hold a open house session to answer questions from citizens about the proposed addition to the community center. The City hopes to build support for a $3.9 million bond vote coming on Tuesday for the project. City Administrator Ryan Schlabaugh says these meetings will be a great opportunity for the community to come out and see what they hope to build.

Plans include a full size basketball court, a walking and running track, and several rooms for community events. For the bond to pass, 60% of voters must say yes on the ballot. The meetings will take place on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at the community center. For more from Schlabaugh listen to today’s In Touch with Southeast Iowa.
