Another Southeast Conference meet took place Saturday at Lebowski’s Rock N Bowl. The Demon boys’ and girls’ bowling teams welcomed the Keokuk Chiefs to town for a league meet.

The boys’ meet saw the Demons fall to the Chiefs, 2,773-2,449. The youngest member of the Washington boys’ bowling team recorded the highest individual score of the season for the Demons. Freshman Riley Lambert was the first Washington bowler to post a two-game score over 400 this year, posting a 417 in the individual round. Sophomore Tucker Renoux added 354 points, while junior Colin Zear marked 341. Washington trailed 1,854-1,673 after the individual round. The baker rounds also went in favor of the Chiefs, 919-812.

The girls’ meet pitted a short-handed Demon squad versus the defending Class 2A champion Chiefs. Keokuk left Washington with a 2,280-1,261 victory. Washington began the meet with four bowlers. However, freshman Trista Kelly withdrew from the meet after the individual round due to injury. Bowling teams are allowed to have six students bowl varsity. Senior Cheyenne Gillette topped the Demons’ scoring, posting an individual two-game score of 275.

The Demon bowlers homestand continues Saturday, hosting the Fairfield Trojans in a Southeast Conference meet. First frames are set to drop at 2 p.m. at Lebowski’s Rock N Bowl.
