South Iowa Cedar League rivals the Keota Eagles (16-6 overall) and the Sigourney Savages (11-11 overall) will battle on the hardwood one final time tonight. This marks the third meeting between the schools this season, and will be held at Montezuma as part of the Class 1A District 11 tournament.

The Eagles have won the previous two meetings against the Savages, defeating their adversary’s by an average of 16 points. Senior Zach Mousel scored 35 points against Sigourney, the most of any player on the squad. He is one of four Eagles who have scored over 225 points this season, leading the team with 272. Sophomore Jacob Wickenkamp has added 267, senior Isaiah Hahn has poured in 231, and junior Avery Conrad has recorded 229.

The Savages enter tonight’s game on a three-game winning streak, including a 66-55 victory versus the Seymour Warriors (11-10 overall) in the district opener. Three Savages scored in double figures versus the Warriors, including senior Blaine Gretter with a team-high 21 points. Senior Denny Haines added 18 points and six rebounds, while senior Peyton Crawford recorded 15 points, converting nine of 10 from the free throw line.

The Class 1A District 11 semifinal between the Keota Eagles and the Sigourney Savages is set to tip off at 6:30 p.m. tonight at Montezuma High School.
