The Lone Tree Lady Lion basketball team finished their season Tuesday night in the class 1A regional quarterfinals falling to Easton Valley 44-41 in Lone Tree.

The Lady Lions got out to a great start with Elena Sierverding scoring five straight to begin the game. The River Hawks battled back to tie the game at seven going to the second quarter. In the second quarter Easton Valley continued their run, stretching their lead to as many as nine before taking a 21-14 lead into the half.

Lone Tree opened the second half with fireworks from beyond the arc provided by Maddie Forbes to pull the Lady Lions within four points but Easton Valley would hold serve, taking a 34-28 lead into the fourth quarter. Lone Tree opened the fourth quarter on a 7-1 run to square the game at 35. Easton Valley would again push the advantage to five on a Lexi Theisen three point goal with 90 seconds left at 42-37, Forbes quickly answered with her fourth three pointer of the night to pull Lone Tree within two. In the final minute Lone Tree had two offensive possession but were unable to capitalize. The first came with the Lady Lions trailing 41-40 and a Lone Tree jumper for the lead and put back both missed. The second was in the final six seconds of the game, following a pair of free throws by the River Hawks, Lone Tree trailed 43-40 and their three point attempt to send the game to overtime was just long to end the game.

Lone Tree was led on the night by Maddie Forbes with 20 points, including 13 in the second half. Two Lone Tree seniors Morgyn Edwards and Derik Chandler played their final game for the Lady Lions in the loss. Lone Tree ends their season at 15-8 while Easton Valley improves to 15-8 and advances to the regional semifinals Friday night to battle Bellevue Marquette Catholic in Bellevue.
