Monday is Leap Day, an event that happens every four years. The extra calendar day is added every four years to keep the modern calendar in alignment with the Earth’s path around the sun. One revolution around the sun for our planet takes approximately 365.25 days, so those quarter days are added together to make one full day added on to the shortest month of the year every four years.

The last Leap Day, in 2012, Washington County Hospital and Clinics had one baby born on the day – Blake Owen Lucas. KCII has one birthday called in so far for Monday and extends a happy birthday to Norma Wolfe of Washington.
