Tuesday evening a site plan for the Stewart Elementary School Early Childhood addition will be reviewed by the City of Washington’s Planning and Zoning Commission. A $2.3 million bond measure passed in the Washington School District in June to add six classrooms and a daycare center to the elementary school, while reconfiguring the drop off and pick up area and demolishing the Stewart West building. The plans were approved by the school board last month.
The Planning and Zoning Commission will also discuss the public hearing that was held December 8th regarding the proposed changes around the airport. The hearing regarded changing zoning for land from A1 to A2, preventing trees, ponds and structures around the airport for safety. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at the Washington Public Library.
