Strong winds swept across eastern Iowa Friday. The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for the area throughout the day yesterday. Drivers were advised of potential hazardous driving conditions, especially for high-profile vehicles on north-to-south roads. The Washington Municipal Airport had wind readings in the low 30s with a gust reaching 55 miles per hour shortly after noon Friday.
