Electric circuit projects were presented by fourth grade students to the Washington school board at their meeting this week. Teacher Chad Hippen from Lincoln Elementary School, explained the science unit begins with each student receiving batteries, wires and little light bulbs and asks them to make the bulb light up, without any prior guidance. He says they also work through frustration and learn through trial and error. The students, Tatum Kane, Remy Messinger, Emma Langstraat and Izzy Jones, showed examples of batteries with wires and light bulbs and then displayed a project where each person had to light up a room in a model house they constructed.
