The dream of playing college football is coming true for one Washington senior. On Friday, Dakota Suchan signed a letter of intent to play wide receiver this fall on the Iowa Western Community College Reivers’ football team.

Suchan was a two-way starter his junior and senior years for the Demon varsity football team. His best statistical year came in 2014 where he caught 29 passes for 482 yards and two touchdowns. Last year, he caught 11 balls for 147 yards and no touchdowns.

Suchan won’t be the only former Demon represented on the Reivers’ football team. Tommy Peterson, a 2015 graduate of Washington Community Schools, played this past fall as an offensive lineman for IWCC.

The Reivers had a successful season in 2015, finishing the year 10-2 overall and ranked third in the National Junior College Athletic Association national football poll. They capped off the season with a 20-6 victory over the No. 17 Georgia Military in the Graphic Edge Bowl. Iowa Western Community College is in Council Bluffs.
