A long losing streak came to an end Tuesday night for the WACO Warrior boys’ basketball team (3-18 overall). The Warriors welcomed the Columbus Wildcats (0-21 overall) to Bob Hilmer Court for a Southeast Iowa Super Conference North battle. WACO had three players score double figure points, assisting the Warriors to a 63-43 victory.

Junior Jackson Roth led the Warriors in scoring with 15 points. Senior Duncan Pickard poured in 12 points, while senior Jackson Gerot added 11 points. Columbus junior Carter Colby scored a game-high 17 points.

The win improves the Warriors to 3-18 overall, ending a 15-game losing streak. The loss drops Columbus to 0-21 overall. The two teams are scheduled to meet Friday in Wayland a part of the Southeast Iowa Super Conference Shootout. Tip off of the varsity boys’ game is set for 7:45 p.m. at Bob Hilmer Court.
