Washington High School’s musical theatre speech group recently received a Division I rating and has now been announced as a recipient of All-State honors. The group performed “Finding Neverland” about the man who wrote Peter Pan and it was directed by Washington Middle School choir director Jonathan Runaas. Speaking of his team, he said they put in a lot of work to create a wonderful musical theater piece and they’ve earned their trip to All-State.
The students include Logan Hanson, Cale Rausch, Lena Adams, Libby Schnicker and Gracie Cleverly. They are a non-performing group, meaning they’ve been invited to the All-State Festival in Ames later this month to receive their award but they will not perform at that time.
