The Columbus Wildcat and WACO Warrior boys track teams recently participated at the Iowa State Indoor meet.

Columbus was led by Mauricio Ramirez who placed 13th out of 141 runners in the 60m dash with a time of 7.33 seconds. Also in the 60m for Columbus was Ruben Paz who took 76th with a time of 7.69 seconds. The second event on the night for Ramirez was the long jump, he took 12th out of 93 with a leap of 19’5.75″. Tommy Pretz was 89th in the 60m hurdles with a time of 10.87 seconds. Devon Henry took 33rd in the high jump of 65 participating as he cleared 5’8″. Columbus took one relay to the event with the 4×100 team placing 18th out of 59 squads with their time of 45.91 seconds.

WACO was led on the evening by their 4×100 relay team which placed 42nd out of 59 teams with their time of 47.98 seconds. Individually, Bryce Achen took 44th in the 60m dash with his time of 7.54 seconds. Colton Horak also competed in the 60m dash for WACO finishing in 97th place with a time of 7.81 seconds. The second event on the night for Horak was the 400m, he finished 94th with a time of 58.23 seconds. Justyn Chalupa also ran the 400 for the Warriors, finishing in 100th place with a time of 58.68 seconds.

Up next for the Columbus boys and the WACO boys is their first outdoor event of the season, Thursday when they will both participate in the Demon Relays at Case Field in Washington.
