The Washington County Conservation Board approved the TAP grant application for potential improvements of the Kewash Nature Trail on Thursday. Director Steve Anderson tells KCII Radio that the board approved up to $60,000 of their funds to the project. Anderson says this matches the $60,000 contributed by the City of Washington. The plan would include paving part of the Kewash Trail and having a trail extended near Willow Pond out to the Kirkwood Washington Regional Center. The total project cost is estimated to be between $1.2 and $1.3 million, with 80% of it funded with federal money.
