Former Lone Tree boys basketball standout Bryan Forbes is excelling at the collegiate level.

Forbes, a 2013 graduate of Lone Tree High School has just completed his junior season at Briar Cliff University in Sioux City. Forbes was selected as a first team all-Great Plains Athletic Conference guard by league coaches was voted conference defensive player of the year. Forbes averaged 13.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per game this season. He led the Chargers with 30 blocked shots, 280 rebounds and led the conference with 69 steals.

He was part of a Charger squad that set the school record by going 32-4 this year, while winning the GPAC regular season and tournament championships. Briar Cliff participated in the NAIA DII National Tournament in Point Lookout, Missouri, where they advanced to the elite eight before being knocked out by Indiana University East.
