Senior Iowa Mennonite guard Eli Gingerich capped off his basketball career with several more postseason honors.

Gingerich was named to the Iowa Newspaper Association Class 1A All-State Second Team for the second year in a row. Gingerich was the first guard named to the second team after being honored as a utility player last year.

Gingerich has also been selected to participate in two senior All-Star games. The first is the Elite Sports, USA Eastern Iowa All-Star Game on Wednesday, March 23 at Kirkwood Community College, the game tips at 7:30 p.m. Gingerich will also participate in the three-point shooting contest at this event.

Gingerich has also been selected to play in the statewide Iowa Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Games on Saturday, March 26 at Dallas Center Grimes High School. Gingerich will lace ’em up with the Southeast squad, which features players from all classes, as do all four teams. The Southeast team will play Southwest at 11:45 a.m. and then play in either the consolation at 4p.m. or championship 7p.m.
