The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys golf team is looking to build on the experience they gained in the 2015 season.

A year ago the Golden Hawks were a team without a single senior that saw their scores drop tremendously during the course of the year. Mid-Prairie, led by freshman and sophomores had a nine hole average team score of 211, with an 18 hole aggregate score of 404.

Tonight, the Golden Hawks open the 2016 campaign at Brown Deer Golf Course in Iowa City against River Valley Conference rival Iowa City Regina. The last time these two schools met in dual competition Mid-Prairie fell to Regina 194-209. Michael Calahan led the way for the Hawks with a 47. Duncan McCain, Seth Mann and Zach Owens all finished at 54. Action between the Golden Hawks and the Regals continues throughout the evening at Brown Deer Golf Course.
