The Mid-Prairie girls soccer team is looking ahead to new things for 2016.

The Golden Hawks are looking ahead at the new year with a new head coach in Mid-Prairie alumni Reid Kaalberg. Kaalberg, a 2013 graduate of Mid-Prairie High School enters his first season as head coach with playing experience at the high school and collegiate level and coaching experience in Mid-Prairie’s Iowa City club team system. Last year the Golden Hawks went 5-9 overall. The Hawks played their best soccer of the season early, beginning the year 4-1 overall.

The Golden Hawks open up the season Tuesday, April 5th when they travel to Clear Creek Amana and follow that up with a road trip on the 12th to rival Washington. Mid-Prairie’s first home game of the year is April, 14th when they host Columbus.
