An international student at the Kirkwood Washington Regional Center was recently one of six students to receive a scholarship. Pasoari Widiastuti was named to the All-USA Community College Academic Team. She was a foreign exchange student at Washington High School and returned from Indonesia to study for college. She wants to study fashion business and merchandising and has applied to go to the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City and Iowa State University. Widiastuti tells KCII News she’d like to work in the U.S. after college.

She shared she likes living in Washington because there isn’t traffic and there’s space, unlike her home. Although, she does miss her family and some of the foods. Widiastuti thanks her host family, Roger and Lori Adams, who helped her continue her education.
