The Iowa Mennonite School girls track team opened their season at the Central College indoor meet this week in Pella. IMS competed in 11 events on the day.

In the field events IMS was led by Rubye Ney in the high jump. She finished 22nd clearing 4’4″. In the long jump Rachel Miller was 24th with a leap of 13′ 9.5″, Suzanna Yoder was 36th with a jump of 13’5″. Emma Beachy finished 64th in the shotput with a throw of 22’10”.

On the track Calli Shaw led the way with her 12th place finish in the 400 with a time of 1:08.68. Avery Blauvelt was 15th in the 3000 with her time of 15:16.60. Rubye Ney was 19th in the 60m hurdles with a time of 10.68 seconds. Rachel Miller was 27th in the event at 10.88 seconds and Taylor Guyer was 92nd in 12.87 seconds. In the 1500 Alyssa Gonzales took 31st in 6:17.66 while Avery Blauvelt was 48th in 6:52.57. Suzanna Yoder led the way for IMS in the 60m dash in 38th place with a time of 8.78 seconds. Mackenzie Gutierrez was 110th in 9.34 seconds and Jenna Boller was 190th with her time of 10.36 seconds. In the 200 Mackenzie Gutierrez was 101st in 32.00, Taylor Guyer took 141st in 33.49 seconds and Jenna Boller was 188th in 37.34 seconds.

In relay events the IMS 4×400 team of Calli Shaw, Rubye Ney, Alyssa Gonzales and Suzanna Yoder was 19th in 4:48.46. In the 4×200 the team of Rachel Miller, Taylor Guyer, Mackenzie Gutierrez and Suzanna Yoder was 29th in 2:05.16.
