This year’s relatively mild winter and few snowfalls has resulted in considerable savings for the Washington County Engineer’s Office Budget. County Engineer Jacob Thorius tells KCII news that they have used considerably less salt, equipment and time for snow removal than budgeted. This savings has allowed the office to put that money elsewhere on rock and shaping projects on gravel roads. Thorius adds that his office has moved on to new spring projects, and has put away snow removal equipment hopefully until next fall.
