Another winning season for the Highland Huskies boys’ basketball team (16-7 overall) caught the attention of the coaches of the Southeast Iowa Super Conference North. The Huskies, this year’s co-conference champions, had six players earn all-conference honors, including two first team, two second team, and a pair of honorable mention selections.

Junior Trent Lasek and senior Tucker Hall made up one-fifth of the first team All-SEISC North squad. This is the second straight season Lasek has been named to the team, leading the Huskies with 290 points and 129 assists. He also was second on the team in rebounds (105), and steals (60). Hall ended his basketball career as one of the top 3 point shooting specialists in the league. His 55 made three-point baskets are second most in the conference, and he’s one of three players to make 50 or more shots from behind the arc this season.

Junior Bill Burton and senior Tereze Lanfair were chosen for a pair of spots on the second team all-conference crew. Burton was the team leader in rebounds with 121 and blocks with 27. Lanfair was the Huskies’ second leading scorer with 227 points and ranked third on the team with 102 rebounds.

Seniors Nick Sandburg and Chris Mellinger were named all-conference honorable mention selections.

The Huskies ended the year with a 16-7 overall record, a two-win regression from last season. Highland will loses Hall, Lanfair, Mellinger, and Sandburg to graduation.
