Two more Republicans have filed paperwork to be on the ballot for the June primary in Washington County. Washington County Auditor Dan Widmer tells KCII news, Robert Shepherd is running for the District 4 supervisor seat, which is currently held by Stan Stoops. Last week, Stoops filed papers for re-election, as did Bob Yoder who holds the District 2 seat for Washington County Supervisors.

Also, Ken Miller is seeking the Republican nomination for Washington County Sheriff. Kirk Bailey has also formally declared his candidacy for Washington County Sheriff. Jerry Dunbar, current sheriff, has announced he plans to retire at the end of the year.

Nomination papers and an affidavit of candidacy must be turned in to the Washington County Auditor’s Office by 5 p.m. March 30th, to be on the ballot for the June 7th primary.
