Severe Weather Awareness Week wraps up with a focus on flash floods. Larry Smith, Washington and Keokuk County Emergency Management Coordinator, reminds motorists to never drive across a road covered in water. Smith shares the saying is, “Turn around, don’t drown.” If a road is covered in water there’s no telling if it’s been washed out or what debris is rushing past. Smith adds it takes very little moving water to sweep a car off the road. For more information listen to the full interview with Smith here.
