The Washington Municipal Airport is receiving a grant for $223,674 from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration grant program. Congressman Dave Loebsack announced the grant this week. Loebsack states local airports help communities grow while fueling economic development in the region. The funds will be used to provide additional space for aircraft parking with a 3,400 square yard expansion of the apron.

Last year, crews paved a new tarmac at the airport with a $2 million federal aviation grant.
