The tallest player on this year’s Washington Demon girls’ basketball team (10-11 overall) earned another postseason award recently. The Iowa Basketball Coaches Association named Demon 5′ 11″ senior Addie Pacha to this year’s Class 4A Region 5 team.

Pacha was the Southeast Conference leader in blocked shots with 23. She was one of two Demon players to score over 200 points this season (201), and her 144 rebounds grabbed was the most on Washington’s squad. She scored 14 points and brought down eight rebounds in Washington’s 36-34 loss to the Oskaloosa Indians in the regional opener.

Pacha was also named a first team all-conference performer last month by the coaches of the Southeast Conference. Her future plans are to continue her basketball career next winter at Cornell College in Mount Vernon.

Pacha was one of five seniors on this year’s Washington girls’ basketball team, finishing the season with a record of 10-11 overall.
