Recently the Winfield-Mt. Union and Columbus boys track and field teams participated at the Dickinson Relays on the campus of the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls.

The Wolves were led on the night by Garret Baker who won his heat of the 60m dash with a time of 7.33, Baker also ran the 200m finishing eighth out of 177 runners with a time of 23.56 seconds. Ross Vantiger was third in his heat with a time of 7.63 seconds. Bryce Robison took sixth in his heat with a time of 7.78 seconds. Gavin Bencze was 30th in the 3200m with a time of 10:57.10 and 31st in the 1600m in 5:02.86. Johnathan Quinn also participated in the 3200m run for the Wolves, finishing 25th with a time of 10:40.11. Bryce Robison was 23rd in the long jump with a distance of 19’8” and Zach Davis was 41st with a leap of 19’1”. The Wolves had one relay event on the night, the 4x200m relay was 44th in 1:40.73.

For the Columbus Wildcats, Mauricio Ramirez was 19th in the 60m dash with a time of 7.31 seconds. Also in the event, Ruben Paz was 93rd in 7.63 seconds and Abel Mena 108th in 7.72 seconds. Ramirez was sixth in the long jump, finishing at 21’1” out of 118 athletes. Mena took 70th in the long jump at 18′ even.

Tommy Pretz was 94th in the 60m hurdles with a time of 10.72 seconds. Devon Henry took 27th in the high jump, clearing 5’8”. James Rivera was 98th in the 200m dash with a time of 25.41 seconds and 151st in the 400 with his time of 1:01.79. The Wildcats had one relay on the night, the 4×200 team was 30th with their time of 1:38.49.

The Wildcats will next be in action Thursday at the Demon Relays at Case Field in Washington. The Wolves travel to West Burlington for a meet on March 28th.
