A recent project completed by a local 4-H Club will help area wood ducks. The Washington Go-Getters 4-H Club did a conservation community service project and installed 16 wood duck houses around the county. The goal of the project is to help the environment while learning about conservation, the importance of habitat, woodworking, migration and wood ducks.

It was a community effort with the John Wagner family donated the wood and the Brian Strabala family pre-cut and pre-drilled the pieces before building. The brackets were welded by Evans Welding, Mose Levy donated the steel posts and the space for the boxes in area marshes was donated by the City of Washington, Lee Wilson and Mike Levy.
