A Washington High School musical director is presenting her final show with the high school this weekend with Beauty and the Beast. Lynn Loula is retiring at the end of the school year; she spoke with KCII about the show saying it’s a show the students have mentioned and it seemed like it was the right year to do it.

There are about 30 students involved in the show, with special effects, intricate costumes and a lot of scenery. The leads are played by seniors Zoe Wagner as Belle and Cale Rausch at the Beast. The musical tells the story of a smart, young woman who helps a young prince disguised at the Beast learn how to love and be loved in return, with the help of his servants who have been turned into common items, like a feather duster and a teapot.

Cast members Gracie Cleverly, Wagner and Rausch invite you to be their guest and attend. The musical will be performed at the Washington Community Center Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.
