Efforts are underway to clean up Washington before 20,000 people stay the night for RAGBRAI in July. The Washington RAGBRAI Hospitality Committee met Thursday morning with George the Pig to begin a clean sweep of downtown Washington. Joe McConnell, a member of the committee, tells KCII News the event is a chance to showcase the community to other Iowans, people from around the U.S. and international guests. He encourages residents, business owners and property owners to take the time to clean up their properties and “put your best food forward.” He says look for places that may need a little bit of paint and clean up trash.

RAGBRAI will overnight in Washington July 29th.
