Levi Duwa of the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys track team set his second school record of the year Friday morning with his impressive performance in the shot put at the 107th Drake Relays in Des Moines.

With his first throw of the day Duwa set a new personal record and Mid-Prairie record with a distance of 56’6″. The previous record was set by James Erb in 1978 at 56’3.25″. Duwa’s throw placed him third in the final standings. The event winner was Tristan Wirfs of Mount Vernon with his throw of 60’11.50″. Duwa also competed in Thursday’s discus event placing 10th with a throw of 153’7″.
