The Mid-Prairie girls track team brought home the championship from the Hawk Co-Ed Relays Tuesday night in Wellman.

Mid-Prairie finished in a tie for the title with the Sigourney Savages at 113 points. Mid-Prairie won five event championships on the night The Golden Hawk girls brought home a championship in the 4×800 with a team of Abby Tornow, Kessa Jones, Hannah VanRoekel and Maddi Zahradnek with their time of 10:57.97. The Mid-Prairie 4×100 team of Ali Butters, Alex Rath, Abby Tornow and Emily Cayton took the title with a time of 52.08 seconds. The distance medley also won the title with a team of Emily Cayton, Alex Rath, Abby Tornow and Hannah VanRoekel and their time of 4:42.15. Maddi Zahradnek was a winner in the 800 with a time of 2:41.74. Kate Cavanagh grabbed the individual title in the 1500m run with a time of 5:51.63.

Other top finishes for Mid-Prairie included Moriah Brase as runner up in the 3000 with a time of 13:26.83. Kessa Jones was second in the 400 hurdles with her time of 1:19.52. The Mid-Prairie 4×200 team of Ali Butters, Emily Cayton, Abby Tornow, and Alex Rath finished as runners up with a time of 1:57.03.  Kylee Koss placing third in the shot put with a throw of 26’6.50″. Kate Cavanagh was third in the 400 with a time of 1:09.77.

Mid-Prairie will next be in action Thursday when they host their home girls meet.
